The Jamaicans are known for their sweet personalities and delicious foods. If you take the time to indulge in some of the mouthwatering Jamaica dessert recipes while you are on the island, you can expect to get treats which is filled with sugar, syrup, condensed milk or any other sweet ingredient that they can find.

Most of the delicious desserts include:
Gizzada which is a fairly sweet tart along with dough prepared from white flour, water and salt, which is then molded into shells. These shells would be filled up with the blend of coconut which was grated and cooked using sugar and a bit of nutmeg. After this, the product would be baked until it acquired a brown color.
The grater cake is another dessert which is prepared from the coconut and this is grated and boiled with sugar. Rose water, nutmeg and ginger are generally included and the color flavorings could also be utilized to provide a number of colors like pink or red.

Basically, the banana leaf is said to give the blue drawers a touch of blue.

Most people who don't have the banana leaf readily at hand will utilize the aluminum foil as a substitute and tie with a piece of string. However, if you currently have the banana tree on hand, it is recommended that you use this to get the authentic taste of the blue drawers. In case you are not sure of the best way to utilize the banana leaf, you should cut it from the centre vein.
